What about this year?
I think we have the most interesting offense in baseball...but it could tumble with an injury to someone like Thome.

My apologies to crank, but the following come off the payroll after this year: Finley 7.0, Nagy 6.0, Fryman 5.9, Cordero 4.2, Wright 4.4. That's 27.5 million.
Add in Colon at 4.7 and Thome at 8.0, and that's over 40 million to sign Thome, Bart, and a 3rd baseman + built-in raises while keeping the payroll essentially constant. Finley, Nagy, Cordero will be replaced internally by low-priced rooks.
40 million is beyond huge. Next year could be phat indeed.
